Who we teach, what we teach and how we teach are the bedrock issues of social studies education. The 2011 NCSS Annual Conference will provide educators an opportunity for thoughtful discussion and collegial exchange devoted to these issues of diversity, and a forum to share, interact, learn, and develop ideas, skills, and programs that increase their own successes and those of their students.
The Arizona Council for the Social Studies sponsors a $200 travel grant award, with preference given to first-time presenters. Consider applying.
ACSS Travel Grant Award available for ACSS members presenting a workshop or session at an out-of-state social studies conference (history, civics/government, economics, geography, humanities).
Salt River Project Classroom Connection Grants

Learning Grants by SRP —Grades K–12 Learning Grants by SRP provides funding up to $5,000 per school site for projects and programs that incorporate innovative teaching strategies in math and science to meet performance objectives as dictated by state standards. Preference is given to programs that integrate science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects in a cross-curricular context.
? Social Studies Grants by SRP — Grades K–12 Social Studies Grants by SRP offers up to $2,000 per educator to help educators present academic content and teach skills in the interrelated disciplines of history, geography, civics, government and economics.
