Spring Workshop: Focus on the Middle East
For Grades 6 – 12

Program overview: The morning session will use Middle Eastern literature and discussion strategies, presented by Seemi Raina, University of Arizona. The afternoon session, presented by Dr. Benjamin Broome, Arizona State University, will provide an introduction to the Cyprus conflict, with an overview of intercommunal contacts, with special focus given to the role of facilitated dialogue activities, examining their impact on the personal, relational, and structural dimensions of the conflict.

*Both sessions will equip teachers to teach the Arizona Social Studies Standard
*Participants will receive a certificate for 6 hours of professional development
*Workshop registration includes lunch and materials
